Carrots: M- prefers diced but uses shredded in salads; L- big chunks, whole; K- large shredded (the tiny shredded is mushy, less pleasant, a grainy juice, ick.
Salt Waters: all agreed that #4 was saltiest, potent, and #6 was mild, smooth; M adds that there were slight changes from brand to brand as subtle flavor changes, but salt by itself is salt by itself.
Avacado: all agreed that just salt was still bland but better than bare, and that salt & lemon were best because the salt made the lemon superduper; there is such a thing as too much salt; K- says it needs garlic. (Does smell affect the taste of salt? Salt is one of the 4 basics that the tongue can actually work by itself.)
Apple juice: 2 of us agreed cold was sweeter, one thought warm was sweeter; 2 said the cold juice tasted better or had more flavor, while one of us said the warm "made me want to add spices."
Milks: L- likes creamy milk, but doesn't drink creamy milk on a daily basis; chocolate milk seems friendly; skim milk is not so tasty but is comfortable; coffeee creamer is attractive but can't drink too much; #7 is like alien weird; 8 tastes like rice water; 9 is bitter but has a healthy feeling. K- 1 is very watery; 2 thick & creamy (made a face, coated tongue); 3 even thicker & heavier; 5 very watery; 6 moderately creamy; 7 like normal milk; 8 & 9 very much like water (thin).
Umami: K- seemed like just warm water, no flavor or sensation. L- very Chinese soup. M- no MSG thank you.
Oil & Lemon, fat & acid: all agreed that the even mix tasted best, too much lemon made it 'tarty' or the taste was too strong, acute; too much oil is more than the tongue desires, coat-wise
Popcorn: mixed reviews here, L- likes sweet popcorn, even with salt and sugar on it; K- didn't like any of them; M- sweet popcorn no way as good as salty, can only taste the sweet, but with salt can taste the popped corn.
Chocolate: light Cadbury was milky, creamy, pretty sweet, slight tanginess with raisins or whatever, crunching of nuts very pleasant. Light Hershey: L- said it reminded her of gasoline, K- not as creamy, M- not very pleasant after Cadbury. Lindt light: L- now it tastes like grape, and like K it had a smokey flavor, K- nutty, earthy, M- getting kinda waxy now. Lindt dark: Bitter! but better than smokey flavor. Unknown brand: L- enjoyed, M- no likey, too bitter. Hershey darker: L- no gasoline flavor more like American home feeling, like wood. Lindt darkest: pill bitter, eek, not sweet at all, too pasty-textured.
