Delicatessen, is a funny, quirky, and campy French movie about a butcher who's also a tenent to an old apartment complex. He owns a Delicatessen in France, in which he occassionally butchers people and sells their meat to the tenents (espeically if they didn't pay their rent). A friendly unemployed ex-clown asks the Butcher if he could work for him as a handyman. Once he starts working he falls in love with the Butchers daugther who seems to be overprotected by her strict father -who by the way screws all the young females in exchange for rent money. The Butchers daughter falls in love with the charming ex-clown and tries to save him from becoming her fathers inventory of 'meat for sale'. To do that, they wind up accidently killing the butcher/ father by filling up the bathroom with water, so when he ripped the door open to kill the couple, he got tsunamied and winds up with a knife in his head. The best scenes I enjoyed was when the daughter Julie hallucinated that she saw her clown boyfriend's decapitated head served on a dinner platter, but it was a circus prank he leanred as a clown to make her laugh, but he didn't know she's tramatized by it because her dad kills people to sell as food. Another errie scene was an old man's bedroom in the basement of the apartment, which was filled with dirty slimey water, swarming with frogs and snails, which hed cook and eat at his leisure. Totally nasty and STRANGE. It's totally french.
